Audrey E. DeBolt, 87 years old of Convoy, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at her residence.
She was born on Thursday, April 5, 1928 in Van Wert County, Ohio the daughter of the late Glen W. Egley and the late Lola L. (Stetler) Egley. She married David "Lee" DeBolt on October 17, 1953 in Wood Chapel United Brethren Church.
Audrey was a charter member of the Wren Historical Society and served as president, vice president and secretary. She was a member of the former Wood Chapel United Methodist Church, Harrison Twp. for 59 years and Countryside Chapel United Methodist Church, Tully Twp, Van Wert Co., OH where she served as Sunday school teacher, editor of the church's newsletter, and on various committees. She was a member of the Trinity Guild of the Wren United Methodist Church and secretary of the Crestview Heritage Board.
Audrey had been employed at Egley's Meat Market in Convoy, OH; Schmidt Meat Market in Decatur, IN; and Van Wert Manor Nursing Home. She was also self-employed and a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband, Lee DeBolt of Convoy, OH; daughter, Cheryl (Jesse) Taylor II of Wren, OH; daughter, Renee (Randy) Matthews of Van Wert, OH; daughter, Sharla (John) Thompson, Jr. of Grover Hill, OH; son, Michael L. DeBolt of Convoy, OH; and brother, Wayne C. (Eileen) Egley of Ohio City, OH. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Jesse Taylor III; Sindi Hazeltine; Justin (Anne) Taylor; Johnelle Thompson; Kimberlee Thompson; and John Thompson III and four great-grandchildren , Jesse Taylor IV; Brecken Hazeltine; Nathan Taylor; and Harper Taylor.
She was preceded in death by a son Kevin L. DeBolt in infancy and a brother, Russell Egley in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 11, 2016 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur with Pastor Wayne Karges & Pastor Bud Walls officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City, Ohio.
Friends will be received from 12 noon to 6 p.m., Sunday, January 10 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur.
Preferred memorials are to Countryside Chapel United Methodist Church; Gideon's International Society; Heritage Bible Board, or Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice.
