Richard A. Gumpp

Richard A. "Dick" Gumpp, 87 years old of Bluffton, Ind., and a former longtime resident of Fort Wayne, Ind., passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2016 in the Ossian Health & Rehabilitation located in Ossian, Indiana.

Dick was born on February 6, 1929 in Muncie, Indiana the son of the late Walter Gumpp and the late Mabel (Cecil) Gumpp. He married Joann Kirk in 1949 and she preceded him in death on December 16, 1992.

Dick was a member at The Bridge Church in Decatur and held previous membership at Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church in Tennessee. He was active in Junior Achievement and served as the president of American Management Association.

Dick graduated from Muncie - Burris High School and Ball State University. He retired in 1982 after 28 years as an office manager at Peter Eckrich & Sons. He had also worked in sales at Duffy's Office Products in Ft. Wayne for his son, Kirk Gumpp.

Surviving are his son, Kirk (Linda) Gumpp of Uniondale, IN; daughter, Dr. Nancy Lynn Montz of Bluffton, IN; daughter, Deborah Jean (Edward) Wells of State College, PA; 6 grandchildren: Trent (Sarah) Gumpp; Kevin (Angie) Gumpp; Risa (Brock) Sayre; Andy Gumpp; Michael Wells; Bethy Wells; and 6 great-grandchildren: Harmony Gumpp; Ava Gumpp; Austen Gumpp; Gillian Gumpp; Andre Timblin; Kell Sayre.

Preceding Dick in death was a brother, Walter L. "Andy" Gumpp.

Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2016 at The Bridge Community Church 1403 Winchester Rd. Decatur, IN.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2016 in the Bridge Community Church with Pastor Mo Hodge officiating. Interment will follow at a later date in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
