Lindy L. Grabner

Lindy L. Grabner, 88 years old of Monroeville, Ind., passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Adams Heritage.

He was born on Friday, June 24, 1927 in Allen County, Indiana the son of the late Grover C. Grabner and the late Leona G. (Leonard) Grabner. He married Imogene E. Clay on August 9, 1947 and she preceded him in death on July 15, 2012.

Lindy retired from Zollner Corporation in 1992 following 27 years of service. He was also a lifelong farmer and prior to his employment at Zollner, he worked at the Clem Hardware Store in Monroeville.

Lindy loved the St. Louis Cardinals and IU Basketball. His love of farming was an important part of his life.

Surviving are his daughter, Patricia (Louie) Meyer of Monroeville, Ind; son, Randy (Linda) Grabner of South Haven, Mich.; daughter, Jill Lucier of Monroeville, Ind.; brother, Loren (Colleen) Grabner of Monroeville, Ind., sister, Audrey Swanson of Duluth, Minn., and sister, Sharon (Richard) Darras of Monroeville, Ind. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Amy (Tony) Knapke; Ryan Meyer; Mitch Meyer; Amanda (Rob) Van Loenen; Stephanie (John Barker) Grabner; Randall (Lindsay) Grabner; Jennifer (James) Shutt; Lindsie (August) Molthan; and Leah (fiancé Robert Cross) Rorick; and 14 great-grandchildren, Wil Knapke; Kendall Knapke; Evan Knapke; Walter Knapke; Nyles Knapke; Layla Meyer; Benjamin Van Loenen; Aiden Van Loenen; Abigail Grabner; Raylind Grabner; Kalin Shutt; Martin Shutt; August Molthan; and Addison Heckert.

Preceding Lindy in death were four brothers, Arnold Grabner, Donald Grabner, Charles "Dick" Grabner, and Dale Grabner; and a sister, Eileen Sloan.

Private family services will be held on Friday in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville with Pastor Ralph Klinker officiating. Interment will follow in the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery.
