Gertrude Gresley, 94 years old of Hoagland, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 in the Parkview Regional Medical Center located in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Gertrude was born on February 15, 1922 in Adams County, Indiana the daughter of the late Edmund Aumann and the late Frieda (Droege) Aumann. She married the late Dale M. Gresley on August 17, 1946 in St. John Lutheran Church - Bingen and he passed away on May 31, 2015.
Gertrude was a graduate of Monmouth High School. She was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church - Bingen and the Ladies Aid of the church. She enjoyed quilting (had a black belt) and attending to her flowers.
Gertrude was a homemaker and had worked 6 years at the General Electric in Ft. Wayne, IN.
Surviving are her daughter, Kay (Victor) Brudi of Hoagland, IN; son, James (Tracy) Gresley of Columbia City, IN; son, Garl (Maggie) Gresley of Hoagland, IN; son, Don Gresley of Hoagland, IN; son, Neal (Joyce) Gresley of Decatur, IN; daughter, Debra (John) Swygart of Hoagland, IN; 6 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 12 step-great-grandchildren, 1 step-great-great-grandchild.
Preceding Gertrude in death were 1 granddaughter: Kimberly Johnson; 2 sisters: Dorothy Selking & Della Hockemeyer; brother: Edmund Aumann Jr. (in infancy); daughter-in-law, Carol Gresley.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2016 in the St. John Lutheran Church, Bingen with Rev. Peter Brock officiating. Interment will follow in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery , Bingen. Indiana.
Friends will be received from 1:00 - 1:45 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2016 at the Adams - Heritage Chapel, 12011 Whittern Rd. Monroeville, IN with a brief devotional service to be held at 1:45 p.m. for those able to attend. Visitation will also be held from 4 - 7 p.m. Monday in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, IN and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
