Phyllis Ann Hamrick

November 10, 1926 — April 10, 2016

Phyllis Ann Hamrick, 89, of Valparaiso, Ind., and formerly of Pleasant Mills, Ind., passed away peacefully on April 10, 2016. She was born November 10, 1926 to the late Carl and Beatrice (Roush) Wolfe.

On September 15, 1945 she married the love of her life Richard Hamrick, who survives. Also surviving are their four children, Pamela (James) Deathe of Decatur; Melvin (Kerry) Hamrick of Fremont; Myron (Linda) Hamrick o f Decatur; and Cheryl (Dale) Bagnall of Valparaiso; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by five siblings, Robert K. (Joan) Wolfe of St. Albans, VT; Barbara J. (Rudy) Rickenbach of Pfaeffikon, Switzerland; John C. (Diane) Wolfe of Bay City, MI; Marabelle S. (Gerald) Switzer of Anderson, SC; and Ginni L. (Jim) McDonald Decatur.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Pearl Louise Wolfe; three brothers, Roland Wolfe; Warren Wolfe; and Calvin Wolfe; and a grandchild, Christopher Deathe.

Phyllis Ann was a former member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Decatur and a current member of Valparaiso Baptist Church.

She will be missed by all who knew her. She was known for her kind and generous loving ways. Phyllis Ann loved her family, cooking, sewing, and gardening.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the Decatur Church of God with Pastor Tom Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in the Willshire Cemetery in Willshire, Ohio.

A visitation will be held from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2016 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Preferred memorials are to Valparaiso Baptist Church.
