Barbara J. Depew, 84 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.
She was born on Saturday, March 12, 1932 in Allen County, Indiana the daughter of the late Eugene L. Voirol and the late Orpha O. (Murray) Voirol. She married C. Victor Depew on August 14, 1953.
Barb was a member of the Antioch Lutheran Church in Hoagland and the American Legion Post #420 Auxiliary in Monroeville.
She was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in 1950 and was the owner and operator of B & P Upholstery, retiring in 1994.
Surviving are her husband, C. Victor Depew of Monroeville; son, Dean A. (Nancy) Depew of Fort Wayne; son, Gary L. (Sally) Depew of New Haven; son, Brian J. (Laura) Depew of Hoagland; daughter, Vicki L. (Henry) Hutter of Anderson; daughter, Kelly M. (Van) Ripley of Convoy, OH; sister, Doris Watson of Fort Wayne; 12 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Preceding Barbara in death were a granddaughter, Che' Ripley; five brothers, James, Ervin, Adrian, Norbert, and Clement Voirol; and four sisters, Martha Keys; Lucille Gerard; Mary Kramer; and Beulah Leeuw.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2016 in the Antioch Lutheran Church in Hoagland with Pastor Dave Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Antioch Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 12 noon to 4 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, April 24 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Preferred memorials are to Antioch Lutheran Church or Heritage Lion's Club.
