Arthur C. Landis

Arthur C. Landis, 91 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at his residence.

He was born on Friday, January 16, 1925 in Adams County, Indiana the son of the late Earl S. Landis and the late Bertha (Fugate) Landis. He married Lillian Fleming on November 16, 1962 in Decatur and she preceded him in death on June 25, 1988.

Art was a member of the Decatur Wesleyan Church.

He retired in 1992 from Dunbar Furniture in Berne with 35 years of service. He also assisted his brother with farm drainage at Landis Ditching.

Art was an avid horse shoe player winning many tournaments and enjoyed fishing. In his younger days, he loved playing pool and mushroom hunting.

Surviving are his brother, Clifford (Dixie) Landis of Decatur; brother, Cleo Landis of Decatur; caretaker, Sharon Cook of Decatur; and numerous nieces & nephews.

Preceding Art in death were five brothers, Leonard Landis; Homer Landis; Harvey Landis; Herman Landis; & Willard Landis and two sisters, Ruth Landis & Marie Mitchel.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2016 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur with Pastor Jerry Mitchel officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m., Tuesday, May 17 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur.

Preferred memorials are to Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren or Family LifeCare in Berne.
