Max H. Weileman

Max H. Weileman, 85 years old of New Haven, Ind., passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

He was born on Tuesday, June 17, 1930 in Fort Wayne, Indiana the son of the late Carl Weileman and the late Bertha (Abraham) Weileman. He married Helen E. Gibson on October 5, 1957 in Hoagland United Methodist Church and she preceded him in death on February 21, 2012.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

Max was a member of the First Baptist Church in New Haven and enjoyed camping.

He retired in 1993 with 20 years of service at East Allen County Schools.

Surviving are his daughter, Charlene R. (Ricky) Johnston of Monroeville; daughter, Sandra Jean (Sheridan) Westphal of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren, Sharri Johnston; Derek (Jordan) Westphal; Tammi McCann; Nathan Johnston; & Cheryl Maher; eight great-grandchildren, Sabrina Johnston; Jordan Johnston; Austin Johnston; Leah McCann; Zach Maher; Angie Maher; Daniel Maher; & Makayla Westphal; and one great-great-grandchild, Baylee Johnston.

Preceding Max in death were three sisters, Lois Lawrence, Betty Maldeney, & Velma Staker and a brother, Wilbur Weileman.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2016 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel with Pastor David M. Trimble and Pastor Richard Baker officiating. Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in New Haven.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 15 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville .

Preferred memorials are to First Baptist Church in New Haven.
