Esther P. Lister, 82 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
She was born on Saturday, December 30, 1933 in Coldwater, Ohio the daughter of the late Lavern Midlam and the late Inez (Clink) Midlam. She married Merlin E. Lister on July 8, 1951 in Chattanooga, Ohio and he preceded her in death on March 22, 2004.
Esther was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church in Decatur.
She retired with 30 years of service in 2004 as the office manager at Prestress Services Inc. formerly known as Yost Brothers.
Surviving are her daughter, Deborah Y. (John) Bergman of Fort Wayne, IN; daughter, Gwendolyn R. (Mike) Grimm of Keystone, IN; daughter, Cyndy A. (Steve) Brown of Decatur, IN; daughter, Karen J. (Donald) Tricker of Decatur, IN; brother, Jim (Bernice) Midlam of Springboro, OH; brother, Ray (Lynn) Midlam of Easton, PA; brother, Tom Midlam of Springboro, OH; and brother-in-law, Jerry (Marcia) Lister of Fort Wayne, IN. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Jon Bergman; Carolyn (Joe) Myers; Catlyn (Jared) Neal; Ariel (Joshua) DeBolt; Ashlee (Bill) Cradick; Laura (Jerod) Beck; Jamie (Jim) Skewis; Michelle (Adam ) McCoy; Samantha Lister; Joshua Brown; Nick Thieme; Nathan (Betsy) Thieme; & Austin Tricker; 22 great-grandchildren and two on the way; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding Esther in death were a son, Kevin Lister in 1999; a grandson, Steven Bergman; a sister, Doris Allen; and twin great-grandchildren, Peyton and Aiden McCoy.
Graveside Services for family and friends will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Decatur Cemetery. Following the graveside services, all who wish to visit with Esther’s family can join them at a luncheon in the Fellowship Hall at the First United Methodist Church in Decatur.
Preferred memorials are to the First United Methodist Church.
