Eddie A. Girod, 64 years old of Monroe, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at his residence.
He was born on Tuesday, May 27, 1952 in Decatur, Indiana the son of the late Lee Girod and Dorothy (Welker) Girod. He married Rosemary Dougal on October 25, 2003 in Ohio City, Ohio.
Eddie was a member of the Eagles Lodge #2653. He was active in the APA, BCA, VNEA, and Decatur Pool Leagues.
He was a graduate from Adams Central High School and had been employed by Strick Corp. in Monroe, Indiana for 27 years. He loved fishing and hunting mushrooms.
Surviving are his wife, Rosemary Girod of Monroe, IN; mother, Dorothy Girod of Decatur, IN; daughter, Amy Joseph of Rockford, OH; step-daughter, Kari (Eddy) Casto of Van Wert, OH; step-daughter, Stephanie (Eric) Bulington of Chicago, IL; step-daughter, Kristin Helmick of Massillon, OH; step-daughter, Megan (Aaron Knittle) Pardon of Ohio City, OH; brother, Dale (Denise) Girod of Decatur, IN; sister, Sherry (Greg) Braden of Decatur, IN; 11 grandchildren; and three special feline companions, Kitt; Alex; and Emmie.
Preceding Eddie in death was sister, Debbie Girod.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at the Cup & Saucer at Vantage Career Center in Van Wert, Ohio.
Preferred memorials are to Transplant Unit at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.
