Norman C. Farber, 78 years old of Zephyrhills, FL, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 in Decatur, IN.
He was born on Monday, May 30, 1938 in Fort Wayne, Indiana the son of the late Charles H. Farber and the late Jenny M. (Douglas) Farber. He married Diane Jackson on November 28, 1959 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Wayne, IN.
Norman served his country in the United States Marines.
He was a union carpenter for 46 years and was a member of the Carpenters Local 232 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was also the owner and operator of The Rot 'n Wood Shop in Decatur for over 30 years. His passion was restoring old cars.
Surviving are his wife, Diane Farber of Zephyrhills, FL; son, Brian N. (Debra) Farber of Sturgis, MI; son, Kurt A. Farber of Sturgis, MI; son, Daniel S. (Rebecca) Farber of Decatur, IN; brother, Terry (Kaye) Farber of Ossian, IN; brother, Michael Farber of Defiance, OH; sister, Barbara (Tom) Wagner of San Diego, CA; eight grandchildren, Charles Farber; Miranda Farber; Ashley Farber; Amber Farber; Jennie Farber; Dedra (Braxton) Bercot; Emily (Salvador) Arteaga; & Rob Farber; and four great-grandchildren, Ethan Bercot; Chloe Bercot; Lillian Arteaga; & Lorenzo Arteaga.
Preceding Norman in death were a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Farber and a sister-in-law, Karon Farber.
Friends will be received from 1-3 p.m., Saturday, August 20, 2016 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home. Following the visitation will be a military honors service conducted by American Legion Post #43 of Decatur.
