Elizabeth "Libby" Bleeke, 92 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
She was born on Saturday, June 7, 1924 in Syracuse, Indiana the daughter of the late Hugh Causer and the late Agnes (McConnell) Causer. She married Justin "Jud" Bleeke on April 21, 1946 in Syracuse, Indiana and he preceded her in death on August 20, 2016. They had been married for 70 years.
Libby was a member at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Preble where she was a member of the Ladies Guild at the church. She enjoyed taking care of her flowers and was a former president of the Garden Club in Adams County.
Libby was a homemaker. She graduated from Syracuse High School and received nurses training at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.
Surviving are her son, William “Bill” (Debra) Bleeke of Fort Wayne, IN; daughter, Pamela (Lonn) Dayton of San Ramon, CA; daughter, LouAnn (Duane) Myers of Montrose, CO; son, Daniel Bleeke of Decatur, IN; brother, Charles Causer of Mission Viejo, CA; and sister, Dorothy Causer of West Lafayette, IN. She was also survived by five grandchildren, Chad Bleeke, Scott Bleeke, Tiffany Outlaw, Corey Aguilar, and Kyle Serzen; six great-grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and six step-great-grandchildren.
Preceding Elizabeth in death were a son Richard Bleeke who died in service to his country during the Vietnam War in 1969 and two sisters, Annie Fiddler and Jeannette Penrose.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 28, 2016 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Preble with Rev. Dr. Daniel Brege officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Preble.
Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m., Thursday, October 27 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
