Mildred Kruetzman, 91 years old of Decatur, IN, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 in Swiss Village Nursing Home located in Berne following an extended illness.
Mildred was born on May 1, 1925 in Adams County. She was the daughter of the late Adolph Stoppenhagen and the late Louise (Hockemeyer) Stoppenhagen. Mildred was united in marriage with Loren Kruetzman on September 30, 1945 in the Salem U.C.C. in Magley.
She was a member of the Salem United Church of Christ in Magley. As a child Mildred was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church Freidheim.
Mildred was a homemaker, and she worked in the office for International Harvester in Fort Wayne during WWII. She graduated from Monmouth High School in 1944
Surviving are her husband, Loren Kruetzman of Decautr, IN; daughter, Ann (David) Biery of Fremont, IN; daughter, Beverly (George) Kruetzman-Gray of Indianapolis, IN; daughter, Jill (Bob) Molen of Elkhart, IN; daughter, Jody (Ken) Paschal of Decatur, IN; sister-in-law, Hilda Stoppenhagen of Ft. Wayne, IN; sister-in-law, Marilyn Stoppenhagen of Decatur, IN; brother-in-law, Russell Kruetzman of Tallahassee, FL; 10 grandchildren: Amy (Mike) Brown, Kim (Jim) Baumgartner, Angie Ruesga, Marina Gray, Sandon (Amanda) Molen, Kristina Molen, Seth Molen, Delanie (Talon) Foley, Jeff (Alexis) Paschal, and Adam Reed; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Preceding Mildred in death was a son Todd L. Kruetzman; a grandson: Anthony Adams; 5 brothers: Clarence, Norman, Erwin, Gilbert, and Ed Stoppenhagen; and 2 sisters: Ruth Wissman & Ester Knipstein.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday November 5, 2016 in the Salem United Church of Christ in Magley, Indiana with Rev. Steve Hildebrand officiating. Interment will follow in the Salem U.C.C. Cemetery, Magley, Indiana.
Friends will be received from 3-5 & 6-8 p.m. Friday November 4, 2016 at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Preferred memorials are to Salem U.C.C. Magley, IN and Loren and Mildred’s Adams County Community Foundation Scholarship Fund.
