Robert Willis Baumgartner, Sr., 74 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2016 at Vibra Hospital of Fort Wayne.
He was born on Sunday, November 23, 1941 in Monroe, Indiana the son of the late Emil Baumgartner, Sr. and the late Ida Jane (Lash) Baumgartner-Aborn. He married Judith Kay Otis on December 17, 1959 in Peru, Indiana.
Robert attended Grace Fellowship Church in Decatur.
He was a retired roll-off truck driver with Acme Waste in Decatur. Prior to his employment at Acme, he was employed at Decatur Salvage under Ed Imel as a truck driver.
Surviving are his wife, Judith Kay Baumgartner of Decatur, IN; daughter, Tammy Kay Singleton of Decatur, IN; daughter, Vivian Darlene (Brent) Bixler of Rockford, OH; son, Robert Willis Baumgartner, Jr. of Fort Wayne, IN; daughter, Tina Maria Baumgartner of Decatur, IN; daughter, Jewel Baumgartner of Decatur, IN; son, Randy Robert Baumgartner of Bryant, IN; brother, Wilford Baumgartner of Bluffton, IN; sister, Mary Landis of Columbia City, IN; sister, Flossie (John) Gabel of Columbia City, IN; and sister, Bernice Sipe of Portland, IN. He was also survived by 26 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Preceding Robert in death were three brothers, Leroy, Harry & Emil (JR) Baumgartner; a sister, Vivian Singleton and a son, Robbie Alan in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur with Rev. Dan York officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2 to 5 & 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, November 11 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur .
