Everett Colwell, 78 years old of Decatur, IN, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2016 at Bluffton Regional Medical Center.
He was born on Saturday, April 23, 1938 in Confluence, KY the son of the late Samuel Colwell and the late Pearl (Lee) Colwell. Everett was united in marriage to Betty Jo Williams on June 13, 1959 in Hazard, Kentucky.
Everett and his wife attended Grace Bible Church in Decatur. He enjoyed Kentucky Wildcat Basketball along with fishing. The consummate family man, he practiced what he preached…his faith was the cornerstone of his life and he and Betty raised their family accordingly. He lived his life by following the Golden Rule.
Everett retired from Silberline of Indiana in 2000 after 14 years of service. Prior to his employment at Silberline, he was employed at Decatur Casting for 25 years.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Betty Colwell of Decatur, IN; son, Everett "Alan" (Nancy) Colwell of Decatur, IN; son, Lowell (Margaret) Colwell of Decatur, IN; son, Larry Neal Colwell of Decatur, IN; son, Jeffrey Lynn (Donna) Colwell of Decatur, IN; brother, Lowell Colwell of St. Mary's, OH; five grandchildren, Samuel Colwell; Joshua Colwell; Seth Colwell; Cody Colwell; and Shelby Colwell; and seven great-grandchildren.
Preceding Everett in death was a son, Terry Lane Colwell; five brothers, Elijah, Herman, Curtis, French, and James Colwell; and three sisters, Nora Harris; Nellie McIntyre; and Mae Colwell.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2016 at Grace Bible Church in Decatur with Rev. Dan York officiating. Interment will follow in the Ray Cemetery in Monroe, Indiana
Friends will be received from 12 noon until the time of service on Monday at the church .
