James A. Hormann

James A. "Jim" Hormann, 61 years old of Hoagland, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 6:18 p.m. at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana following his admission earlier in the week for an undiagnosed heart condition.

Jim was born on May 15, 1955 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana the son of the late Franklin "Frank" Hormann who preceded him in death on February 19, 2005 and Lora (Selking) Hormann who survives. Jim was united in marriage to Kathy Markle on September 18, 1976 in Indianapolis, Indiana and she survives.

Jim was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Soest.

Jim was employed by Allen County in the Maintenance Department for 3 years. Prior to his employment with Allen County, he was a road test mechanic with Navistar in Ft. Wayne until they relocated to Chicago.

Jim is survived by his wife of 40 years, Kathy Hormann of Hoagland, IN; daughter, Rachel (Michael) Cummins of Hoagland, IN; mother, Lora Hormann of Monroeville, IN; brother, Daniel (Shellie) Hormann of Decatur, IN; brother, Roger (Lisa) Hormann of Ossian, IN; sister, Dianne (Thomas) Kneller of New Haven, IN; sister, Donna Hormann of Ft. Wayne, IN; and 6 Grandchildren: Ayden Lauer, Kristian Lauer, Jaxon Lauer, Emily Cummins, Brandon Cummins, and Abbygail Cummins.

Preceding Jim in death was a son, Ryan Hormann on November 30, 2003 and his father Franklin "Frank" Hormann on February 19, 2005.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, December 4, 2016 in the St. John Lutheran Church, Bingen with Rev. Peter Brock officiating and Rev. Shayne Jonker assisting. Interment will be at a later date in the church cemetery.

Friends will be received from 2-5 and 6-8, Saturday, December 3, 2016 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville, Indiana and one hour prior to services Sunday at the church.

Preferred memorials are to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Soest or St. John Lutheran Church, Bingen 175th Anniversary Mission.
