Phyllis M. Schamerloh

Phyllis M. (Heine) Schamerloh, 88 years old of Decatur, IN, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2017 in Adams Woodcrest in Decatur.

She was born on Tuesday, October 3, 1928 in Allen County the daughter of the late Carl Heine and the late Alvina (Mailand) Heine. Phyllis was united in marriage with Harold H. Schamerloh on June 4, 1949 in New Haven, IN and he preceded her in death on October 17, 2015.

Phyllis was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church - Decatur and she also was a choir member for many years.

Phyllis was a homemaker and a mother, which was important.

Phyllis is survived by her son, Larry L. (Karen) Schamerloh of St. Charles, MO; son, Duane C. (Marcela) Schamerloh of Scottsdale, AZ; 2 grandchildren: Nan Marie (Justin) Miller of Fishers, IN and David L. Schamerloh of Washington, MO; 2 great-grandchildren: Shen M. and Akio M. Miller of Fishers, IN; 3 step-grandchildren: Oscar, Angie, and Fer Villarreal of Scottsdale, AZ.

Phyllis was preceded in death by a son, Larry Lynn Schamerloh who was stillborn; two sisters: Eunice Bienz and Marcella Paschka; brother, Gaylord C. Heine; two brothers-in-law: Gilbert Bienz and Ted Paschka; and a sister-in-law, Gertrude M. Heine.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 in the Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. David Koeneman officiating. Interment will follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Decatur.

Friends will be received from 3-5 and 6-8, Tuesday, February 28, 2016 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home- Decatur and one hour prior to services Wednesday in the church.
