John E. Bowyer , 79 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2002 in the Adams Heritage.
He was born on Saturday, March 31, 1923 in Monroeville, Indiana the son of the late Edward G. Boyer and the late Frances J. (Wanamaker) Boyer. John served in the United States Army during WWII from 1943 until March of 1946.He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Monroeville as well as the American Legion Post 420 in Monroeville. He was Nuclear Chemist with U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission for 25 years in Barridge, TN and in Washington, D.C.
He is survived by his sister, Mary H. Bowyer of Monroeville, Indiana; his nephew, James E. Bowyer of Fort Wayne, Indiana and his niece, Julia Ann McDougal of Decatur, IN.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Francis Bowyer.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. December 7, 2002 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville, with Rev. Richard Vonesh officiating. Interment will follow in the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery, Monroeville, Indiana. Friends will be received from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2002 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville.
Preferred memorials are to St. Mark's Lutheran Church or Monroeville Emergency Medical Services.
