Anna Lee "Ann" Lafferty

November 2, 1921 — May 2, 2017

Anna Lee "Ann" Lafferty , 95 years old of Decatur, Ind., passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Woodcrest Nursing Center in Decatur.

She was born on Wednesday, November 2, 1921 in Jay County, Indiana the daughter of the late Elias H. McDonald, Sr. and the late Augusta C. (Ervin) McDonald. She married Douglas W. Ginger on November 4, 1939 in Adams County, Indiana and he preceded her in death in 1966. On October 14, 1968, she was united in marriage to LeRoy M. Ziebart in Pierceton, Indiana and he passed away in 1980. Ann was then married to Carl A. Lafferty on October 29, 1983 in Fort Myers, Florida and he preceded her in death in 2001.

Ann was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Preble.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting and crafts. Ann lived in Florida for 13 years in the Ft. Myers area and greatly enjoyed the time there…along with the weather!

Surviving are her daughter, Sherry (Joe) Gonzalez of Decatur, Ind.; daughter, Dena Shaffer of Butler, Ind.; daughter, Debra (Ron) Wiegmann of Decatur, Ind.; daughter, Beth (Thomas) Reinhart of Decatur, Ind.; sister, Gelene Brickley of Bluffton, Ind.; half-brother, Dean McDonald of Indianapolis, Ind.; half-brother, Wayne McDonald of Phoenix, Ariz.; 22 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding Anna in death were a son, Billy Ginger; two daughters, Phyllis Gonzalez and Beveryly Nagy; a grandson, Christopher Killingbeck; a great-granddaughter, Kamree Suzanne Shaffer; nine brothers, Ernest, Harold, George, Cecil, Ray, Eugene, Glenn, Elias, & Charles McDonald; a sister, Pearl Stipp; and a half-brother, Robert McDonald.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, May 5, 2017 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur with Rev. Dr. Daniel J. Brege officiating. Interment will follow in the Elm Grove Cemetery in Bluffton, Ind.

Friends will be received from 12:30 until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home .

In lieu of flowers or any other gifts, Ann's family requests that memorial donations be made to the family for needed care of Joshua Gonzalez (in care of the funeral home and checks made payable to Dena Shaffer) or to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Preble.
