Abigail Ann Roehm

Abigail Ann "Abby" Roehm , 1, of Ohio City, OH passed away Sunday, August 13, 2017 at her residence after being diagnosed with Alpers - Huttenlocher Syndrome, a rare Mitochondrial disease that affects the cells of the body.

She was born on July 15, 2016 in Decatur the daughter of Robert Roehm and Amanda (Dugan) Roehm.

Abby and her parents are members of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schumm. Abby's father is a mechanic at BF Goodrich in Woodburn. Abby's mother is a homemaker.

Abby, in her short time on earth, showed the value of life in how she affected those around her. She was very loved by all her family and brought joy and smiles to everyone. She also allowed that same love to be returned to her in the care that she received from her family along with her doctors and nurses.


Survivors include her parents, Robert and Amanda Roehm of Ohio City, OH; brother, Ryder Roehm; brother, Vincent Roehm; Maternal Grandparents, Tom and Becky Dugan of Rockford, OH; Paternal Grandparents, Roland and Teresa Roehm of Willshire, OH; Maternal Great Grandparents, Dave and Barb Hileman of Rockford, OH; Paternal Great Grandmother, Gretchen Ericson of Decatur, IN.

Abby was preceded in death by Maternal Great Grandparents: Vincent and Doris Dugan; Paternal Great Grandfather, Paul Roehm Jr.; and Paternal Great Grandparents; Donald and Gisela Garwood.


Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 18, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church, Schumm with Rev. Jeff Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Schumm in Schumm, OH.

Friends will be received from 2-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, August 17 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.

Preferred memorials are to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schumm; Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio; Community Health Professionals - Hospice Care of Van Wert.
