Arlene Bowyer , 86, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed peacefully in her sleep after a long illness with Alzheimer’s on Wednesday , August 16, 2017 at Golden Years Homestead.

She was born in East Bethlehem Township, Washington County, PA the daughter of the late Hubert Nicklow and the late Lulu Pearl (Parker) Nicklow. She married James Bowyer on October 12, 1960 in Republic, PA and he preceded her in death on November 16, 2012.

Arlene was employed with the Pennsylvania State Police until her marriage to James. Following their marriage, she became and retired as a homemaker.

She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne. Arlene loved reading true crime mysteries. She was a Pittsburgh Pirates fan and a Notre Dame Football fan. She was a loving mother and grandmother to anyone lucky enough to know her.

Survivors include her daughter, Kristalle (Daniel) Dellinger of Fort Wayne, IN; grandson, James Wadsworth of Fort Wayne, IN; granddaughter, Katelynn Dellinger of Fort Wayne, IN; & granddaughter, Brionna Dellinger of Fort Wayne, IN.

She was preceded in death by a son, Brent J. Bowyer in 2004; four brothers; and a sister.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville with Chaplain Charlene Rorick officiating. Interment will follow in the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, August 23 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville, Indiana and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to Fraternal Order of Police Indiana Wayne Lodge #14 Death Benefit Fund.
