Joseph L. Wagner, 73, of Monroeville, IN passed away Friday, August 18, 2017, at 1:20pm at Parkview Supportive Care on Randallia in Fort Wayne, following a brief illness.
He was born on Tuesday, September 28, 1943, in Allen County the son of the late Walter Wagner and the late Mary (Ryan) Wagner. He married Judy Marquardt on December 28, 1963, in Monroeville.
Joe retired in 2006, after 25 years of service as a welder at Strick Corporation in Monroe.
He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #420 Monroeville, and was a graduate of Monroeville High School Class of 1962.
Survivors include his wife, Judy R. Wagner of Monroeville, IN; daughter, Jeanette Pierce of Monroeville, IN; son, Jeffrey (Lori) Wagner of Monroeville, IN; daughter, Janel (Dave) Voirol of Monroeville, IN; 4 grandchildren: Nicole (Joseph) Pickering, James S. Pierce Jr., Catherine Voirol, and Jonathan Wagner; 3 step grandchildren: Ashleigh (Doug) Kayser, Abby Gerardot, Alisha (Noah) Bontrager; 3 great grandchildren: Samuel Mihm, Levi Pickering and Nathaniel Pickering; 3 step great grandchildren: Sophia, Adeline and Nolan Kayser; sister, Delores "Babe" Richman of Hoagland, IN; sister, Judy (Tom) Rothgeb of Monroeville , IN; sister, Mary Jo Wagner of New Haven, IN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joseph was preceded in death by one brother; Stanley "Sonny" Wagner and 2 sisters; Helen Johnston and Julie Schwartz.
Joe’s request was to be cremated and no funeral service. However, family and friends will be received from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, August 22, in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Monroeville.
Preferred memorials are to: Parkview Hospice, Monroeville EMS or Monroeville Volunteer Fire Dept.
