Marium R. Goelz

Marium R. Goelz , 89, of Monroeville, IN passed away during the evening hours on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Adams Heritage in Monroeville, where she had resided for the past two years.

She was born on Monday, July 23, 1928 the daughter of the late George W. Dawson and the late Sylvia A. (Ellis) Dawson. She married Robert H. Goelz on June 18, 1948 at Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur, and he preceded her in death on September 22, 2002.

She became a homemaker, after graduating from Monroeville High School in 1947.

Marium was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Monroeville, and was a former council member of the church. She was also a member of the Von Bara Society; American Legion Auxillary Post #420; and the Marine Auxillary, Miami District.

Survivors include her son, David L. Goelz of Monroeville, IN; son, Ronald L. (Judy) Goelz of Indianapolis, IN; son, James R. (Wendy) Goelz of Fort Wayne, IN; son, Donald E. (Cindy) Goelz of Rockford, IL; sister, Carol J. Dawson of Monroeville, IN; daughter-in-law, Karen Goelz of Evansville, IN;  17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Richard A. Goelz; a brother, Albert Dawson; and two sisters, Edith Boltz and Roberta Dawson.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 8, 2017 at St. Mark Lutheran Church with Pastor David Williamson officiating. Interment will follow in Monroeville Memorial Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville and one hour prior to the service at church on Friday.

Preferred memorials can be made to Cornerstone Youth Center or St. Mark Lutheran Church.
