Beverly A. Richards
, 76, of Decatur, Indiana passed away Friday, September 8, 2017 at her residence following a long illness. Her death was unexpected but occurred where she wanted..at home.
She was born on Sunday, April 13, 1941 in Van Wert, Ohio the Daughter of the late William Kline and the late Thelma (Tickle) Kline. She was united in marriage to Kenneth E. (Gene) Richards on June 6, 1981 in Decatur and he preceded her in death on September 15, 2010.
She was a member at Zion Lutheran Church, Decatur where she was involved with the Stephen Ministry.
Bev was employed at CTS in Berne, retiring after 35 years of service.
Bev enjoyed sports of most any kind, and her family…in that order. She was very sharp minded and quick witted…making others laugh made her day! Her keen sense of hearing was legendary among her children…nothing went unnoticed. She had the heart of a servant and showed that by involving herself with a widows club, silver sneakers, and Stephen Ministry, all allowing her to provide help to those encountering challenges in life. Her circle of friends, especially the Wednesday Breakfast Buddies provided her with social time and she greatly appreciated their help over the past several years.
Survivors include her son, David (Jen) Krueckeberg of Decatur, IN; daughter, Darlene (Steve) Ehrsam of Coldwater, MI; daughter, Beth Buhr of Decatur, IN; daughter, Lori Wietfeldt of Decatur, IN; daughter, Susan (fiance Gary Williams) Fuelling of Decatur, IN; daughter, Lisa (James) Shrader of Waunakee, WI; daughter, Karen Smethers of Middletown, IN; brother, Boyd "Butch"(Kay) Kline of Louisville, KY; brother, Michael (Sharon) Kline of Columbus, OH; sister, Robin (Larry) Worden of Rockford, OH; sister, Amy (Don) Schumm of Whitehall, MI; 18 Grandchildren, 10 Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Richards and her great-granddaughter, Natalie A. Roll.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church
with Rev. James Voorman, officiating. Interment will follow at a later date in the Decatur Cemetery in Decatur, Indiana.
Friends will be received from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, September 12 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
Preferred memorials are to : Zion Lutheran Church, Decatur or Adams County Council on Aging.
