Jack L. Butler, 75 of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 10:09 pm Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
He was born on Monday, June 8, 1942 in Adams County, the son of the late Hubert E. Butler and the late Luella Alice (Kelley) Butler.
Jack was employed as a foreman with Prestress since 1961. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge #1311 in Decatur, as well as Sons of the American Legion Post 43, Decatur.
Surviving are his son, Troy Butler of Ohio City, Ohio; daughter, Tina Butler of Preble, Indiana; daughter, Trisha Tinkham of Decatur, Indiana; daughter Natalie (Bob) Dague of Monroe, Indiana; brother, Joe Butler of Decatur; brother, Paul (Beverly) Butler of Decatur; brother, Jim (Beverly) Butler of Decatur; his former wife Carol Butler; brother-in-law Bill Murray; eight grandchildren, Cody Butler, Beau Butler, Travis Bixler, Ben Tinkham, Emilee Tinkham, Ryan Tinkham, Sydney Dague, and Nick Dague; as well as three great-granddaughters, Kailey McClure, Kenzie McClure, and Kinlee Tinkham. He also is survived by his faithful canine companion, Mick.
Preceding Jack in death was a brother, Tom Butler; a sister, Judy Murray; and two sisters-in-law, Judy Butler and Brenda Butler.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur , with celebrant Dave McIntire and Gene Blakey officiating. Interment will follow at Decatur Cemetery.
Friends and family will be received from 1-8 p.m. Monday, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home Decatur.
