Bill Williams

Bill Williams , 69, of Decatur, IN passed away Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Van Wert Manor in Van Wert, OH.

He was born on Saturday, October 2, 1948 in Decatur the son of the late Clarence E. Williams and the late Isabelle S. (Troutner) Williams.

Bill served in the U. S. Army during Vietnam from 1966 - 1970 where he was the recipient of the Purple Heart after being wounded in action. As a result of the wounds he received in combat, Bill was a disabled veteran.

He belonged to the VFW Lodge #6236, Moose Lodge #1311, American Legion Post #43 and Eagles Lodge #2653 all in Decatur, IN.

Bill loved spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends, reading, watching TV, shooting, and fishing.

Survivors include his daughter, Tina (Allen) Wass of Decatur, IN; son, John Williams of Decatur, IN; sister, Sue Krick of Decatur, IN; sister, Barbara (Daniel) Burkey of Portland, IN; sister, Nancy (Larry) Gibson of Decatur, IN; 4 grandchildren, Brittany Maffucci, Chantel Budreau, Hollie Till and Brandon Wass; and 6 great grandchildren.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers; Fred Williams, James Williams, and Terry Williams; and also 1 great grandchild, Ramsey Kay Wass.

Friends will be received from 2-5 and 6-8, Wednesday, November 8 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, Indiana.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home-Decatur with Rev. Ralph Klinker officiating.  Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery where a military graveside service will be conducted by the American Legion Post #43 Color Guard.
