Emma S. Boerger, 106, of Ft. Wayne, IN passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017 at Coventry Meadows in Fort Wayne.
She was born on Tuesday, March 28, 1911 in Rockford, OH the daughter of the late Philip F. Schumm and the late Leona B. Schumm. She married the late Otto L. Boerger on October 10, 1940 at Zion Lutheran Church.
Emma and her husband Otto operated their family farm for over 50 years.
She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Fuelling.
Survivors include her daughter, Margaret Boerger of Ft. Wayne, IN, son, John (Patricia Anderson-Boerger) Boerger of Ft. Wayne, IN, daughter, Angela (Jeffrey Strayer) Boerger of Ft. Wayne, IN, 2 Grandaughters, Eliza (Clay) Claborn and Caitlin (Jesse) Boerger-McCray, Step-granddaughter, Vanessa (Ryan) Trammell, Step-grandson, Aubrey Strayer, Great-grandson, Henry Claborn, Great-granddaughter, Emma Pearl Claborn, and 3 Step-great-grandchildren, Tate, Pete and Reeve Trammell.
Emma is predeceased by her 3 sisters: Marie Fuelling, Velma Schumm and Anna Bischoff.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 27, 2017 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with, Pastor Martin Moehring, officiating. Interment will follow in the St Peter Lutheran Cemetery, Fuelling in Decatur, Indiana 46733.
Friends will be received from 12:00 noon - 4:00 p.m., Sunday, November 26 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, Indiana.
