James W. Mcswain

James W. McSwain , 78, of Decatur, Indiana passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Swiss Village in Berne. He was born on Tuesday, March 14, 1939 in Patriot, Indiana the son of the late Emerson McSwain and the late Edna (Garard) McSwain. Jim married Charleen (Andorfer) Stebing on July 14, 1989 in Decatur, Indiana.

His employment history included working as a machinist for American Hoist for 20 years, CTS for 5 years, and New Idea for 8 years, finally retiring in 2001. He was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church and belonged to the Masonic Lodge in Decatur for 50 years. Jim was also the president of the Decatur Little League.

He loved spending time with his grandchildren; they were his pride and joy. He could never have a conversation without mentioning them.

Survivors include his wife, Charleen K. McSwain of Decatur, IN; daughter, Marla Brunsman of Cincinnati, OH; son, Todd (Paulanna) McSwain of Decatur, IN; step-son, Brent Stebing of Huntington, IN; step-son, Brad Stebing of Decatur, IN; step-daughter, Renee (Ken) Bradford of Decatur, IN; sister, Mary Lou Hart of Madison, IN; sister-in-law, Vera McSwain of Indianapolis, IN; and nine grandchildren, Anthony, Katlyn, Victoria, Kelsey, Brandon, Derek, Madison, Brady, and Kayla.

Jim was preceded in death by a brother, Russell McSwain; sister & brother-in-law, Wilma & Harold Fels; son-in-law, Ken Brunsman; and daughter-in-law, Wendy Stebing.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur. Interment will follow at the Decatur Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 2 to 7 p.m., Friday, January 26 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to service on Saturday. Masonic Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Memorials may be made to Decatur Baseball Association or ACCF Angel Fund-Diabetes.
