Ron Farthing , 55, of Huntington, Indiana passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
Ron was born on December 9, 1962 in Huntington to Stanley Farthing and Elizabeth (Broxon) Farthing.
He graduated from Huntington North High School in 1981 and went on to receive a B.S. from Huntington College in 1985 and a master’s degree in counseling from Grace College. Ron was the owner of Logos Counseling in Decatur.
He enjoyed collecting baseball cards, watching the Cubs, reading, & listening to his 80’s music.
Survivors include two daughters, Mariah (Nick) Windhorst of Fishers & Jessah Farthing of Decatur; son, Logan Farthing of Decatur; grandson, Ezekiel Covarrubias of Decatur; mother, Elizabeth Farthing Terhaar of Huntington; three brothers, Kent (Diana) Farthing, Gary (Cindy) Farthing, & Mark (Rebeccah) Farthing all of Huntington; four sisters, Linda (Sam Crago) Denman, Sue (Bob) Mygrant, Donna (Jerry) Bolding all of Huntington & Carol (Paul) Wyatt of Columbia City; & girlfriend, Amy Scher of Huntington.
Ron was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Rick Farthing.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur with Pastor Jeff Linthicum & Celebrant Dave McIntire officiating. Interment will be at Beach Grove Cemetery in rural Huntington.
Friends will be received from 1 to 7 p.m. Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are to the Grandchildren’s Education Fund with checks payable to Nick Windhorst.
