Mary Lou Holt

Mary Lou Holt , 91, of Decatur, IN passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 at Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur.

She was born on Monday, December 27, 1926 in Kokomo, IN the daughter of the late Paul W. Bullock and the late R. Maye (Belt) Bullock. She married Charles P. "Porky" Holt on April 17, 1949 in Kokomo and he preceded her in death on June 13, 2016.

Mary Lou was a school teacher for 57 years and retired in 1991. She taught at Monmouth High School and also at St. John Lutheran School, Flatrock. Following her retirement in 1991, she was a substitute teacher for many of the Lutheran Schools in the area until 2008. She was also co-owner & operator, along with her husband "Porky", of Holt Athletic Sporting Goods in Fort Wayne.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Flatrock where she sang in the choir and also the Lutheran Chorale.

Survivors include her son, Ron L. (Cindy) Holt of Decatur, IN, son, Dr. Larry C. (Randy Smith) Holt of Cocoa Beach, FL, son, Michael P. (Mary) Holt of Lynchburg, TN; six grandchildren, Jesse (Kristin) Holt, Casey (May) Holt, Jamie (Thomas) Salima, Jenny (Justin) Beaulieu, Josh (Lara) Holt, & Zach Holt; 12 great grandchildren, Joley Beaulieu, Logan Holt, Kylee Holt, Austin Holt, Alexa Holt, Cayla Holt, Jett Beaulieu, Peyton Holt, Faye Holt, Jean Paul Beaulieu, Lincoln Salima, and one more due any day.

She was preceded in death by her son, Steve P. Holt in 1997.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2018 at St. John Lutheran Church, Flatrock, 12912 Franke Rd, Monroeville with Rev. Douglas Christian officiating. Interment will follow in the St John Lutheran Cemetery, Flatrock.

Friends will be received from 2-5 and 6-8, Friday, February 23rd at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be made to St. John - Emmanuel Lutheran School Endowment Fund.
