Charles C. Howe, Sr ., 76, of Monroeville, Indiana passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018 at his residence.
He was born on Thursday, November 27, 1941 in Fort Wayne, Indiana the son of the late Lee Howe and the late Betty (Behman) Howe. Charles was raised by his step-father and mother, Clifford and Betty Jane Wagner and both preceded Charles in death.
He married Roberta Gentry on May 25, 1974 in Jay County, Indiana granting them 43 years of marriage together.
Charles had worked at Monroeville Box & Pallet. He had also worked at Duo Marine (Thunderbird) and Decatur Salvage in addition to Montgomery Ward in Fort Wayne. Mowing and helping anyone out provided Charles with great enjoyment…along with his grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Monroeville & a former member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #420 Monroeville.
Survivors include his wife, Roberta Howe of Monroeville, IN, son, Charles (Brenda) Howe, Jr. of Grover Hill, OH, son, Jeremy Howe of New Haven, IN, son, Clifford (Tehila) Howe of Decatur, IN, brother, Richard (Marcile) Howe of Monroeville, IN; 5 grandchildren, Corbyn Howe, Parker Howe, Zakery Howe, Chris Howe, & Jenna Howe; and 1 great-granddaughter, LoveLynn Howe.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel with Chaplain Charlene Rorick officiating. Interment will be at the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 12 noon to service time Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Monroeville EMS, St. Mark's Lutheran Church, or Monroeville Fire Department.
