Shirley A. Fuhrmann

Shirley A. Fuhrmann , 72, of Ossian, Indiana passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Ossian Health & Rehab. following a long illness.

She was born on Friday, June 8, 1945 in Willshire, Ohio the daughter of the late Forrest Hamrick and the late Maxine (Bonner) Hamrick.

She married Vernon E. Fuhrmann on June 4, 1967 in Willshire, Ohio and he preceded her in death on September 5, 2005.

Shirley graduated from Parkway High School in the Class of 1963. Following her graduation from high school, Shirley was employed at the General Electric in Decatur where she met Vernon, her future husband. After her marriage, she became a homemaker and a farm wife.

Shirley is a member at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ossian, Indiana. Farming was an important part of her life.

Survivors include her son, Keith A. Fuhrmann of Ossian, IN; daughter, Joyce M. Fuhrmann of Ossian, IN; son, Scott A. (Jennifer) Fuhrmann of Craigville, IN; son, Vaughn A. (Heather) Fuhrmann of Ossian, IN; son, Myron A. Fuhrmann of Ossian, IN; sister, Barbara (Gary) Weck of Ohio City, OH; sister, Janet (William) Hunter of Van Wert, OH; sister, Crystal (Steve) Sheets of Rockford, OH; brother, Marvin Hamrick of Willshire, OH; and 11 grandchildren, Katelyn Fuhrmann, Ethan Fuhrmann, Vincent Fuhrmann, Adelyn Fuhrmann, Alexander Fuhrmann, Haegan Fuhrmann, Annabelle Fuhrmann, Luke Fuhrmann, Grant Fuhrmann, Jonathan Fuhrmann, and one more due in July.

Shirley is preceded in death by a brother, and a sister in infancy.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur with Rev. Randall Wurschmidt officiating. Interment will follow in the Prairie View Cemetery in Tocsin, Indiana.

Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, March 23 and from Noon until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
