She was born on Sunday, October 25, 1936 in Fort Wayne the daughter of the late August Christian Heinrich “Henry” Schoenemann and the late Ruth E. (Degitz) Schoenemann. She married Franklin C. Crosby on May 25, 1957 in Ft. Wayne, IN and he preceded her in death on September 23, 2017.
Carol graduated from Elmhurst High School in 1954 as the Valedictorian. She stayed involved with her Elmhurst classmates through the years & helped organize gatherings & reunions. In her early years she was a Legal Secretary & later a Realtor for several Ft. Wayne companies.
Mom was the force that pulled our family together. She loved creating family gatherings with large feasts & made sure to capture all the Kodak moments. She loved to cook & make pies with cherries Dad would gather from the neighbor's tree. She was a diligent worker & VERY organized. She & Dad had many projects together, notably making sauerkraut & canning tomatoes. Not until her mid-70s did she use canned tomatoes other than her own. She was a 'fashionista' & an amazing seamstress. Her creations were perfect. She had a soft heart & always made us feel better. She loved her only Grandson with all her heart. She loved each of the Siamese cats that came into her life passionately. We miss her already.
She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne
