Robert E. Keuneke , 77, of Decatur, Indiana passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne after being stricken at home the previous day. His death was unexpected.

He was born on Monday, August 19, 1940 in Fort Wayne, Indiana the son of the late Fredrick H. Keuneke and the late Edna (Buuck) Keuneke. He married Faye Bittner on September 1, 1962 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Preble.

Bob was a lifelong farmer. He was also formerly employed at Universal Metalcraft for many years.

He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Preble where he held several offices. Bob was also actively involved in the Decatur Lutheran Bible Institute for many years. Education was very important to Bob & he was a former member of the Wyneken School Board and also the North Adams Community School Board. He was also a member of the Beck's Seed Presidents Club.

Bob was a generous, hard-working, honest man who valued his time with his family. He became the Keuneke "Bus Driver", taking his grandchildren and great-grandchildren to their many activities. He showed his faith in God by the way that he lived his life, being the humble servant.

Survivors include his wife, Faye Keuneke of Decatur; three daughters, Rhonda (Jim) Brune, Suzie (Brian) Steiner & Marcy (Jeff Manley) Gilbert all of Decatur; two sons, Robert C. (Candy) Keuneke & Jeff (Ashlee) Keuneke both of Decatur; two sisters, Doris Thieme & Eileen (William) Zwick both of Decatur; & sister-in-law, Evelyn Keuneke of Decatur. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, Dr. Ashley (Tim) McFarlane, Alex Steiner, Zachary (Danielle) Brune, Kacey (Blake) Fuelling, Megan Sloffer, Ben Steiner, Kylee (Zach) Pearson, Brittany (Ben) Farmer, Bobby (Katie Ellsworth) Keuneke, Spencer (Chantelle Hyatt) Gilbert, Joshua Brune, Sam Steiner, Alyssa Brune, Colton Gilbert, Maddie Steiner, Lanae Gilbert, & Elijah Steiner & 15 great-grandchildren, Alice McFarlane, Emmilene McFarlane, Eleanora McFarlane, Alanna Martinez, Orlando Martinez, Charisma Martinez, Nevaeh Martinez, Xadrian Brune, Braelle Brune, Andi Sloffer, Jordan Sloffer, Skyler Steiner, Keaton Steiner, Charlotte Fuelling, & Liam Pearson.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Frederick W. Keuneke and Richard Keuneke; and Bob's in-laws, Alton and Alice Bittner, who he farmed with for most of his life.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Preble with Rev. Dr. Daniel J. Brege officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Preble.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 & 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 29 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the services Wednesday at the church.

Preferred memorials are to Cal Farley Boys and Girls Ranch; Wyneken; or Worship Anew.
