Joan L. Wyer , 94, of Cridersville, Ohio and a former longtime resident of Willshire, Ohio passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 19, 2018 at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio.
She was born on February 4, 1924 in Bluffton, Indiana to the late William E. Newlin and the late Wilmena (Lindsey) Newlin. On February 15, 1947 she married Ivan Wyer in Willshire, Ohio and he preceded her in death on May 12, 2013.
Joan graduated from Decatur High School in 1942. She retired from the Back 40 Junction in Decatur after 26 years of service.
She was a member of the Waynesfield United Methodist Church in Waynesfield, Ohio and the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary in Spencerville, Ohio. She loved her family and spending time gardening, especially flowers.
She is survived by her daughter, Candy (Dr. Daryl) Osborn of Wapakoneta, OH; granddaughter, Tracy (Joe) Albridge of Charlotte, NC; and great-grandson, Peyton Albridge of Charlotte, NC.
Graveside Services will be held at Willshire Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2018 with Pastor Mark Rutledge officiating.
Preferred memorials are to Cridersville EMS.
