Marjorie Ellen Scheimann

Marjorie “Marge” Ellen (Burkett) Scheimann , 87, of New Haven, passed away Monday, July 16, 2018 at Golden Years Homestead. She was the daughter of Fred and Adella (Heemsoth) Burkett. Marge graduated from New Haven High School in 1949. She worked in the Personnel Dept. at B.F. Goodrich, retiring in 1992 after 29 years of service. After retiring, Marge worked part-time at the Moose Lodge in New Haven. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, New Haven.

Marge loved her family and dogs and enjoyed walking, dancing and music. She was adept at crosswords and number puzzles, always carrying a puzzle book with her.

Marge is survived by daughters Sue Braun, Linda Scheimann (Jim Kelty), Jan (John) Brynda, grandsons Geoff (Stephanie) Braun, Scott (Cassie) Braun, Adam (Mandy) Sack and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Ilene (Burkett) Lantz, and former husband, Martin “Bud” Scheimann.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Al Burkett, and long-time companion Lynn “Joe” Westrick.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville with the Rev. Paul Shoemaker officiating. Burial will follow at Concordia Cemetery Gardens .

Family & friends will be received from 3 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday.

Preferred memorials are to the Allen County SPCA, the American Heart Association or donor’s choice.
