Marjorie “Ardis” Perry , 96, of Geneva, Indiana passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Adams Memorial Hospital.
She was born on January 26, 1922 in South Bend, Indiana to the late John C. Krieg and the late Joy (Sedam) Krieg. A rdis married Lloyd Perry on October 4, 1942 at the Woodburn Methodist Church in Woodburn, Indiana. He preceded her in death on March 30, 2011.
She was a member of the Berne Trinity United Methodist Church and active in the United Methodist Women. Throughout her life she was very involved teaching Sunday school, Bible School and serving on various committees. Ardis enjoyed feeding the birds, spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren, shopping, caring for flowers, tending to her house plants, cooking, baking and enjoying the beauty and activities of Rainbow Lake. Ardis was also an avid Duke Basketball fan. She especially enjoyed family time over the holidays and during the annual vacations. Among her most recent joys was spending hours rocking her great-grandbabies.
Before moving to Geneva, she worked as a department manager at True Value in Macomb, Illinios.
She is survived by a daughter, Elaine (Richard) Monroe of Geneva; three sons, Randall (Kandis) Perry of Loda, IL, Rick (Robin) Perry of Salisbury, NC, Roger (Joye) Perry of East Moline, IL; grandchildren, Camarra (Mike) Yates, Jeffery Willey, Rachel Perry, Rebecca (Matthew) Schwartz, Nathan (Meredith) Perry, Russell (Elizabeth) Perry, Raegan (Corey) Anderson, Raelynn Perry, Samuel Perry, Levi Perry; & eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Krieg; two sisters, Waneta Mahan and Iris Hall; & two granddaughters, Robin Kate Perry and Hope Lynn Perry.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 7, 2018 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Berne with Rev. Mark Wallace, Dr. Randall Perry, & Dr. Roger Perry officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Cemetery in Geneva.
Family & friends will be received 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, September 6, 2018 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Berne & one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Preferred memorials are to Trinity United Methodist Church.
