Rose Buhler

Rose (Cardone) Buhler, 94, of Berne, IN passed away Friday, September 21, 2018 at Swiss Village.

She was born on Wednesday, November 7, 1923 in New Jersey the daughter of the late Pasquale Cardone and the late Loretta Cardone.

She married George Buhler on April 12, 1947, in Passaic, NJ. In 1967, they moved from New Jersey to Cape Cod, Massachusetts, where Rose was employed by Bryant Interiors, sewing draperies. After moving to Berne in 1979, Rose worked for Economy Printing of Berne, Custom Floor and Wall in Berne, Pizza King of Bluffton, and Earthen Treasures in Berne.

Rose was a member of West Missionary Church. Her interests included sewing, ironing, and cooking. She loved waltzes, opera, and Christian music. Being surrounded by family brought her great joy. An integral part of her life was her service to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Rose loved singing old hymns and working with children in junior church and AWANA.

Survivors include her loving husband of 71 years, George Buhler of Berne, IN; daughter, Lauretta (Steve) Zurcher of Berne, IN; son, Wayne (Jill) Buhler of Garner, NC; six grandchildren, Jeff (Christi) Zurcher, Megan (Matt) Haveman, Brett Zurcher, Jessica (Fiancé Dustin Kunasek) Buhler, Stephanie (Kyle) Biddle, Michelle Buhler; five great-grandchildren, Lainey Zurcher, Cale Zurcher, Livi Mae Zurcher, Brody Haveman, Hanna Haveman; niece, Joy Buhler; nephew, Walter Anen and several nieces and nephews in New Jersey.

Rose is preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 24, 2018 at Swiss Village with Pastor Keith Rupp and Pastor Mike Wertenberger officiating. Interment will follow on Tuesday with a private family burial in the Marion National Cemetery in Marion, Indiana.

Friends will be received from 4:30-7p.m. at the Swiss Village auditorium on Monday September 24, 2018.
