James E. Moser, 90, Berne passed away on January 24, 2017 at Swiss Village where he was a resident. He was born to Mark and Anna Blocker Moser. He married Glenna Sprunger on October 1, 1926.
Jim was a lifelong member of the First Mennonite Church where he served as a former trustee and various committees in the church. He volunteered many years at a Christian Camp(Camp Gilead) in Florida doing construction work. In 1964 he went to Haiti in voluntary service though the Mennonite Church doing construction work. He was a member of the Berne Lions Club for many years. Jim was president of Moser Construction which he formed along with his 3 sons. His interests included; traveling, fishing, and doing jigsaw puzzles.
Survivors include; his wife, Glenna, daughter, Barbara(Dan)Dawson of Berne, sons; Ted(Judy)Moser of Berne, Greg(Karen)Moser of Berne, Brian(Kelly)Moser of Linn Grove, 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 3 step great-grandchildren, brother, Loren(Grace)Moser of Berne, sisters, Caro(Ralph)Jones of Argus, IN., and Marge(Jim)Bowman of Ft. Wayne.
Preceding in death are his parents, stepmother, Linda(Stucky)Moser, sister Vera(Ivan)Sprunger and brothers Robert and Lee.
Funeral services are Sunday, January 29, 2017, 2:00 pm at the First Mennonite Church with visitation 1 hour prior to services. Visitation also Saturday from 3 to 8 pm at the Swiss Village Auditorium, Berne. Officiating is Pastor Jerry A. Flueckiger and Pastor Jeff Linthicum. Burial is in the MRE Cemetery.
