Rev. Victor I. McKinley, 94, Bluffton, former Berne resident passed away on December 17, 2016 at Signature Health Care in Bluffton. He was born on May 15, 1922 in Meadville, Pa. to V.I. and Edith Losee McKinley. He married Ethel Gilson on February 3, 1943.
Victor was a member of the First Missionary Church, Berne where he sang in the choir. He was ordained in the Free Methodist Church and pastored for 20 years throughout the midwest. During his ministry he also was employed at the Meadville Tribune as a negative assembler and also for the Gray Printing Company in Fostoria, OH as a camera operator. Victor was a veteran serving in the Air Force as a cryptologist during WW II serving in the Asia Pacific region near the Azures. He was a master craftsman in the fine arts and excelled in photography, woodworking, lace making, knitting and singing.
Survivors include; a daughter, Vicki(Lynn)DeArmond of Berne, foster son, Michael(Tracy)Harmon of Findlay, OH, foster daughter, Denise(Harmon)Thompson of Orville, Oh., 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Preceding in death are his parents, wife, Ethel,2012, and a sister, Florence Peters.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Titusville, PA.
