Howard L. Pharr, 102, long time Linn Grove business man passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Swiss Village. He was born to Calvin J. and Mae Crump Pharr on July 1, 1914 in Ringgold, Ga. He married Rufine Habegger on February 28, 1940.
Howard was a member of the First Missionary Church. He was owner of Pharr's Bargain Barn in Linn Linn for 50 years and also drove truck for the Berne Furniture Co. for 20 years. Howard also enjoyed fishing and painting.
Survivors include his son, Derryle(Neva)Pharr of Berne, sister, Lottie Pierce of Ringgold, GA., 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and several step great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Preceding in death is his wife, Rufine, daughters; Diana Foust, Dixie Pharr, brothers; Odus, Jarrett(J.C.), Thomas Burgess Pharr, sister, Thelma Carden, and 2 great grandchildren, Brandon Foust and Alexandria Pharr.
Funeral services are Friday, July 29, 2016 at 10:30 am at First Missionary Church with visitation 1 hour prior to services. Visitation also Thursday from 3 to 8 pm in the church fellowship hall. Officiating is Pastor Dathen D. Foust. Burial is in the Greenwood Cemetery, Linn Grove, IN.
