Norma S. Augsburger, 81, Berne passed away Sunday, November 29, 2015 at her daughter's home in Ceylon. She was born to Chester and Eleanor Whiteman Cook Sprunger on May 5, 1934 in Adams County, IN. She married David Augsburger on April 30, 1977 who died in 2008.
Norma was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church, Portland. She was employed at Nussbaum Novelty, Berne, Ballastran Co., Portland, Decatur Industries, and later retired from Pennville Custom Cabinets, Portland in 1998. She enjoyed croqueting, decorating yarn wrapped clothes hangers, family vacations, listening to gospel music, and collecting souvenirs while on her travels. She loved her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include: sons, Robert "Bob"(Sarah)Arnold of Logansport, Thomas"Tom"(Jane)Arnold of Marion, daughter, Carolyn Sue Arnold of Ceylon, stepchildren; Susan Zimmerman of Ft. Wayne, Clyde Augsburger of Colorado, 4 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Preceding in death are her parents, husband, brothers Meredith Sprunger and Max Sprunger.
Funeral services are Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home, Berne at 2:00 PM with visitation from 10:00 AM to time of services. Officiating is Pastor Wayne Ward. Burial is in the MRE Cemetery, Berne.
Preferred memorials are to the Adams County Community Foundation-Macular Degeneration Foundation &/or Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.
