Karen A. Emberlin, 69, Berne, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Swiss Village after a short illness. She was born to Loris and Betty Nussbaum Rich on October 11, 1945 in Adams County. She was married to Donald Emberlin on December 29, 1963.

She and her husband operated a marketing and web design company while living in Knoxville, TN.
Having moved back to Berne in 2013 she was a resident at Swiss Village and was a member of the First Missionary Church. She also was a writer for Proverbs 31 Ministries, "A Widows Might". She was a member of the "Red Hats", and enjoyed traveling. Karen especially loved her family and grandchildren.

Survivors include her mother, Betty, daughter, Andrea(Terry)Fay, of Orlando, Fla., son, Kurt Emberlin of Richmond, VA., sister, Lora(Craig)Sprunger of Berne, brother. Jon(Kathie)Rich of Carol Stream, Ill., and 4 grandchildren; Chandler Emberlin, Gracie, Carley , and Connor Fay.

Preceding in death are her husband, father, step-father, Weldon Lehman, and sister, Cheryl Rich.

A memorial service is Saturday, at 10 AM at the First Missionary Church with visitation 1 hour prior to services. Visitation also Friday, from 3 to 7 PM at the Swiss Village Chapel. Officiating are Pastor Max Haines & Pastor Jon Rich.. Burial is in the MRE Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to A New Season Ministries, Inc., Wesley Chapel, NC.
