Helen I. Liechty, 95, native of Berne passed away Friday, May 15, 2015 at Swiss Village. She was born to Wilbur and Lovina Nussbaum Luginbill on March 5, 1920 in Adams County. She married Clinton S. Liechty on June 1, 1941.
Helen was a member of the First Missionary Church after she and Clinton moved back to Berne from Loudonville, OH. in the late 1980s. While in Loudonville she was the office manager of her husband's optometric office. She was a former Sunday School teacher and sang in the church choir. Special interests include reading, quilting, needlepoint, crafts, painting and golfing.
Survivors include: daughters; , Janet(Fred)Pigott of Wheaton, IL., JoAnn(Alan)Rupp of Fort Wayne, IN., son, Ronald(Linda)Liechty of Niles, MI., 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchldren, and a brother, Howard Luginbill of Berne.
Preceding in death are her parents, husband, and brother, James E.Luginbill.
Funeral services are Monday, May 18, 2015 at 11 am at the Swiss Village Chapel with visitation 1 hour prior to services. Officiating is Pastor Max Haines. Burial is in the MRE Cemetery, Berne.
Preferred memorials are to Swiss Village Samaritan Fund &/or Family Life Care.
