Grant A. Habegger, 92, of Berne, IN passed away on March 30, 2015 at 1:11 a.m. Monday in Swiss Village.

Grant was born on August 11, 1922 in Adams County, IN the son of the late Andrew Habegger and the late Clista (Reusser) Habegger.
Grant was first married to Barbara J. Riley on June 29, 1943 and she passed away on June 24, 1998; he then married Bonnie F. Neuenschwander on December 17, 2000 and she survives.

Grant was a United States Marine Corps Veteran, serving his country during World War II in the Pacific Theater and was honorably discharged at the rank of Staff Sergeant.

Grant was a member of the Bethel Brethren Church-Berne; prior to moving to Berne, Grant was a member of the First church of the Nazarene in Bluffton, IN; a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Association; and a member of the American Legion Post #468 in Berne.

Grant was a life insurance salesman for Prudential Life Insurance for 25 years, retiring in 1983. In order to prepare for his insurance career, Grant attended Indiana University. Prior to his insurance career, Grant was a salesman for the Fryback Ice Cream Company in Bluffton and was also a part-owner with his father in Andy's Dairy in Berne.

Surviving are his wife, Bonnie Habegger of Berne, IN; son, Rick Habegger of Bluffton, IN; step-daughter, Janean (Steve) Kisor of Ft. Wayne, IN; step-son, Clay (Kathy Neuenschwander of Ft. Wayne, IN; step-daughter, Jeff (Cynthia) House of Auburn, IN; granddaughter, Karla (Kevin) Gallagher of Linn Grove, IN; granddaughter, Kimberlee Everett of Bluffton, IN; and 18 step-grandchildren.

Preceding Grant in death were a step-daughter, Vonda Boerger; 2 sisters, LaVera Fickert & Larene Schrock.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday, April 2, 2015 in the Bethel Brethren Church-Berne with the Rev. Joe Nass officiating. Burial will be in the MRE Cemetery in Berne. Military Graveside services will be conducted by the American Legion Post #468 of Berne.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2014 in the Swiss Village Chapel and 30 minutes prior to services at the church on Thursday.
