Lorraine J. McKean, 91, Berne, passed away Saturday, October 25,2014 at Swiss Village. She was born to Herman and Lydia Neuenschwander Lehman on June 15, 1923 in Adams County. She married Gorman McKean on July 31, 1945 in Berne.
She was a member of the First Mennonite Church where she was active in the Chancel Choir, Women in Mission, Mennonite Choral Society, teaching Sunday School and a leader in the Girl's Mission Band. Lorraine worked part time at richard's Jewelry, Amishville USA, and Schindler Electric. Her interests include; baking, sewing, quilting, & vegetable gardening. She was a prayer warrior and loved her family dearly.
Survivors include sons; Richard "Dick" (Janet) McKean of Berne, William "Bill" (Linda) McKean of Berne, daughters; Carol (James)Buckingham of Geneva, Barb (Gregg) Sprunger of Berne, sister; Elmira Wulliman of Berne & 10 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Preceding in death are her parents, husband Gorman, a sister Marilyn Flueckiger and a brother, Earl Lehman.
Funeral services are Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 10:30 am with visitation 1 hour prior to services at the First Mennonite Church. Visitation also Monday from 2 to 8 pm at the Swiss Village Chapel. Officiating is Pastor Jerry Flueckiger and Pastor Jeff Linthicum. Burial is in the MRE Cemetery, Berne.
Preferred memorials are to Michael and Jenn Sprunger (for Mission Housing Fund) &/or First Mennonite Church Bell Choir Fund.
