Harold Walden Nussbaum, 89, resident of Berne, died Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at his residence. He was born on November 29, 1924 in Poneto, In. to Clifton and Louise L.(Lehman)Nussbaum. He married Marie Wiebe on July 26, 1969 in Watrous, Sask. Canada. She survives.

Harold was a former employee of Berne Furniture Co. and Smith
Brothers of Berne. He served for 26 months in the U.S.Army as a medical corpsman and dental technician in Fort Riley, KS. and Camp Atterbury, IN. from 1945-51. He graduated from Bob Jones University, Greenville, SC. in 1959. and from Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff, AZ. 1969. Harold was a former teacher and principal of Hopi Mission School at Oraibi, AZ. for 12 years. He also held pastorates at Napier Mennonite Church of
Tull's Hill at Mann's Choice, PA.
and Casselton Mennonite Church in Casselton, ND. for 19 years. He was a member of the First Mennonite Church where was a Sunday School teacher and a member of the Chancel choir & Men's Chorus.
More recently he was Pastor of Visitation at First Mennonite Church, Berne for 9 years until his retirement on April 30, 2003.

Survivors include include his wife, a foster Vietnamese daughter, Stephanie(Loan)Nussbaum Trinh of Houston, TX.; a sister Doris(Fritz)Thomann of Noble, OL., brothers;
David W.(Carolee)Nussbaum of Berne, Charles E.(Mary) Nussbaum, A. John(Marilyn)Nussbaum both of Fort Wayne, IN.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and sisters; Lena Felber and Virginia McClure.

Funeral services are Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 10:30 am at the First Mennonite Church, Berne with visitation 1 hour prior to services. Visitation also on
Friday, October 24 from 2 to 8 pm at the Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home. Officiating is Pastor Jerry Flueckiger and Pastor Jeff Linthicum.

Burial is in the MRE Cemetery, Berne

Preferred memorials are to First Mennonite Church Missions &/or Hopi Mission School, Kykotsmovi, AZ.
