Janice M. Culver, 76, Berne passed away Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Swiss Village, Berne. She was born to Glenn Hay and Helen "Kallansrud' Hay Baumgaertner on November 17, 1937 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She married Randall "Randy" Culver on August 28, 1957.
She was a member of the Mt. Hope Church of the Nazarene where she taught Sunday School and Bible School. Janice was an aid and elementary teacher in the South Adams Schools for many years. Her interests were reading, gardening, enjoying hummingbirds and music. She encouraged her children and other youth to further their music talents and seek an education.
Survivors include: four daughters; Carol M.(Gary)Livengood of New Haven, IN., Cathrine L.(David)Ziegenfuss of Walnutport, Pa., Carin J.Riley of LaPorte, In., Barbara L.(Edwin)Welch of Upland, IN., sister, Tish McNeese, of W. Burlington, Iowa, brothers; Ronald Hay of Cape Girardeau, MO., Robert Hay of Ottumwa, Iowa, 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Preceding in death are her parents, husband , Randy and great grandchild, Caylin Riley-Jimerson.
Funeral services are Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at 10:30 am at the Mt. Hope Church of the Nazarene with visitation one hour prior to the services. Visitation also Monday from 4 to 8 pm at the Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home, Berne. Officiating is Pastor Brice Bennett. Burial is in the Mt Hope Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to the Mt. Hope Missions.
