Shirley M. Augsburger, 85, Berne passed away at 12:40 pm on Friday, April 25, 2014 at Swiss Village in Berne. She was born on August 17, 1928 in Morris, Minnesota to Henry and Sophia Mauch Burmeister. She married Clyde Augsburger on August 23, 1948 in Chokio, Minnesota.
Shirley was valedictorian of her high school class and attended Taylor University for two years where she met Clyde. She was a receptionist at Micro-Precision Textron for 13 years. Shirley was a member of the Grace Bible Church where she had served as a Sunday School teacher.
Surviving are three daughters; Sue (David) Collins of Cincinnati, OH, Sally (Roland) DeRenzo of Colorado Springs, CO., Pam (Lonnie) Evans of Alpharetta, Ga., five grandchilden; Micah (Shante) Collins, Chris DeRenzo, Michelle (Jeremy) Soronen, Alex Evans, and Hannah Evans; and four great -grandchildren; Elijah, Gideon, Ezekiel and Judah Collins. She is also survived by sisters-in-law JoAn Burmeister of Chokio, MN. and Helen Augsburger of Berne as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters; Carol Tuttle, Barbara Robbins and Bonnie Dallenbach, and a brother, Hank Burmeister.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 29, 2014 from 12:00 noon to time of services at 1:00 pm in the Swiss Village Chapel. Officiating is son-in-law Lonnie Evans. Burial is in the MRE Cemetery in Berne.
Memorials are to the Swiss Village Samaritan Fund and/or Family Life Care of NE Indiana.
