Wilma Louisa Smith, 87, Berne, IN. a resident of Swiss Village passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Adams Memorial Hospital. She was born to William L. and Laura (Krull) McKinley on November 14, 1926 in Dayton, Ohio. She married
Carl E. Smith on
November 14, 1945 in Dayton where they lived most of their life.
Wilma was a homemaker and an active member of the
United Brethren in Christ Church in Dayton. Later in life she and her husband moved to the Swiss Village Retirement Center in Berne and attended the First Missionary Church. She enjoyed sewing, baking and especially loved her family.
Survivors include: a son, Wayne (Dawn) Smith of Berne and daughter, Margaret (Dr. Merle) Gibson of Vandalia, OH., and beloved granddaughter, Elizabeth Smith.
Preceding in death is her husband, brothers Guy, Jesse, Elmer, and Fredrick McKinley.
Per her request, there will be no visitation or graveside service.
Burial is in the Ehrstine Cemetery in Trotwood, OH.
Preferred memorials are to Elizabeth Smith, missionary to Viet Nam in care of Trinity United Methodist Church(Motor Bike Fund) 1217 Clark St., Berne, IN. 46711.
